Pratt's Floor Covering is owned and operated by my wife, Carla and I, Matthew Pratt. It is a business that we have built on pride, professionalism and quality. I started in this trade in 1984, and worked for a couple different companies, one of which is here in Plymouth, where I worked for 7 years. Afterwards, I had decided to work construction, which I did for about a year while also installing floors on the side. I had many floor covering jobs I was doing on the side and which kept me very busy, so I decided to work part time construction and the rest of the time installing floors. This worked for a while, but I got busier and busier with the installation jobs and I decided to install floor covering full time and start my own business. I started Pratt's Floor Covering in 1993 out of my home, with a couple displays and my garage to work out of. After about a year Carla, my wife, also started working full time for the business, answering phones and showing samples. Needless to say, as business grew so did the need for more space. In 1996 we decided to move the business out of our home and onto Jefferson Street where we stayed until July of 2006. That year we opened the doors to our new building on North Oak Dr. The move was a success for the our large showroom filled up quickly with beautiful displays and samples Our warhouse is full of many remnants and pallets of all flooring, and our clientele grew quickly. During these past years we have stayed very dedicated to selling quality flooring and keeping our customers satisfied with thier floor covering needs. In order to do that, I have become a certified installer along with becoming a certified technician in carpet and furniture cleaning. Floor covering is an installed product, and unless installed correctly the appearance and life of your flooring will be compromised. I also know that there are manufactures that only warranty thier product with a certified installer, that is why I feel it is very important to keep my knowledge and standards up. My Family
I live here in Plymouth with my wife, Carla, and our four children Jordan, Audrey, Jacqueline and Theodore(Teddy), pictured to the left. We have a home in the country, where the children stay busy raising some animals and growing a variety of vegetables and fruits in our garden. My family are members of St. Michaels Church, and all my children also attend St. Michaels School. We love this community and try to stay as active in as many events as we can. Besides being active in our community, we proudly support the Ronald McDonald House Charities through our affiliation with BrandSource.
